The lung cancer

Cancer sickness and the sicknesses depending on cancerious cells are called in such a way where the cancerious tissue appears in general.Lung cancers appear in lungs initally. Small sized lung cancer is an ilness which contains malignant cancer cells in lung tissues.Lungs are the spongy form,conic organs and fill the breastbone as a double(Figure 1).The main function of the lungs are to take away CO2 from metabolism as a waste material of body cells and take the oxygen in as a basic need of body cells for life.The lungs contain tubes filled by air called bronchus,air saccules called alveol and blood and lymph vessels.
There are two kinds of the lung cancer and both of them can be determined according to the cancerious cells under the microskop.First is the lung cancer with small sized cells and the other is the lung cancer without small sized cells.
How often does the lung cancer appear?
Today, the lung cancer is an epidemic invasion and among the men it is the most fatal cancer sickness on the world now. It is the second as a sequence between the sicknesses which causes death after the Cardiovascular diseases and It is still the first since 1987 in USA among the women.In 1996 64000 women died because of the lung cancer and other 44000 died because of the breast cancer in USA.This increase on the lung cancer events in 1990s depends on the fast increase on the smoking rate appeared in 1960s in USA among the women.It is supposed that the lung cancer events will increase until at least 2010 and the increase will be stoped hardly after this year.Today it is the first reason of the deaths on the other developed countries else.According to the world average it is the first reason of the deaths among the men in the world and the second among the women after breast cancer.WHO declared that 300000 women have died in 1985 because of the sicknesses depending on the cigarette and 21.1 percent of them have died because of the lung cancer directly in developing countries.
The number of the patients appearing every year is going on increasing around the world.It is supposed that 2 million new lung cancerious people will be fixed in 2000 around the world and 60 % of them will be fixed in the developing countries.Increasing rate is more clear especially among the women.
However he lung cancer was unusual sickness at XX. century. As a result of consumption of cigarettes derived from tobacco,the lung cancer have appeared in 1940s and this epidemic invasion have been affecting today all the world increasing continously.
20000-25000 lung cancerious people appear every year in our country and it is supposed that this number will reach to the 30000-40000 levels because of nonexistence of reliable statistics about health.Most of the cancer events occur on men in our country and the rates of women to the men is approximately 1/7.However as a result of increasing the smoking rate after 1980s among the women this ratio will be closer to 1at least 5 years . The ratio of cancerious people to the total population is 32/10000 between 1983 and 1989 according to the public survey of Health Ministry of Turkish republic.The lung cancer ratio comprises 26% of this list.The ratio of respiratory system cancer to the all cancer events was 43% between 1991 and 1992.Thus the real cancerious people ratio must be 120-130/10000 according to the same results.The lung cancer ratio of all the regions of Turkey is like this.Egean region is 39.5%,Marmara region is 26.9%,East anatolian region is 26.1%,Southeast anatolian region is 18.2%,Mediterranion region is 18.1%,middle anatolian region is 16.6%.
